WHAT IS CROSS MIDNIGHT ATTENDANCE RECORDING?
Cross midnight attendance recording in SAP SuccessFactors is the ability to record attendance for a shift that spans midnight.
This can be useful for employees who work night shifts or who work in industries where shifts often span midnight.
HISTORY OF CROSS-MIDNIGHT ATTENDANCE RECORDING IN TIMESHEET ON IOS AND ANDROID APPS
Earlier,
It was difficult to record cross-midnight attendance in time sheets on mobile devices. This was because most timesheet apps only allowed users to record attendance for the current day. This meant that if a user worked from 11:00 PM on one day to 1:00 AM on the next day, they would have to record their attendance twice – once for the first day and once for the second day.
Now,
SAP SuccessFactors has recently added the ability to record cross-midnight attendance in timesheets on both iOS and Android apps. This means that users can now record their attendance for the entire shift, regardless of whether it spans midnight with the Updated Release on June 16, 2023. SAP has added this feature to align the functionality of the mobile and web apps.
STEPS – CROSS-MIDNIGHT ATTENDANCE RECORDING
IN TIMESHEET ON IOS AND ANDROID APPS
To record a cross-midnight attendance in the Time
Sheet app, simply follow these steps:
1. Open the Timesheet.
2. Click on the “Attendance” tab.
3. Click on the “New Recording”.
4. Select the “Time Type”.
5. In the “Beginning” field, enter the start time of the shift.
6. In the “End Time” field, enter the end time of the shift.
7. Select the “Cost Centre”.
8. Click on the “Save” button
Your attendance will now be recorded for the entire shift,
including the time that spans midnight.
This new feature is a welcome addition to the Time Sheet app.
It makes it easier for users to record their attendance
accurately, regardless of whether their shift spans midnight.
This can help to ensure that employees are paid correctly for
their work hours.
